ICC HAS CHANGED CRICKET RULES

The International Cricket Council has changed the rules for cricket. Many new rules are also imposed in the game. This is a biggest news of today. As the upcoming exams could contain question on this topic, we are providing all information about this topic.

Here is the list of rules that are imposed or changed:

1.) Indiscipline:
The new rule of showing Red or Yellow Card to the undisciplined player is added. According to which the players doing the offence under level-4 can be suspended temporary or permanently for the match. The level-4 offences contains misbehavior with the umpire, physical violence with any player, etc.

2.) Shape and Size of Bat:
Before - The shape and size of the bat was not fixed. It was helpful for the batsman.
Now - The width is fixed to 400 mm and Thickness is fixed to 67 mm including the curve.

3.) No Ball:
Before - The ball getting more than two tips was said no ball and the ball getting the tip outside the pitch was said dead ball.
Now - The ball getting more than one tip will be no ball and the ball getting the tip outside the pitch will also be no ball.

4.) Run Out:
The batsman was given out if the bat was in the air while stumping even if the bat already reached inside the line. This is proved unfair for the batsman. So if once the batsman reached inside the line then it will be safe.

5.) Handle the ball:
Now handle the ball out rule is joined with the obstructing the field rule, in past they both were separate rules.

6.) DRS:
In past, the team review was reduced if the decision was not in favour of them on umpire's call. Now the team review will be safe in this case.

7.) Rules for Catch:
In past if the fielder jumps from under the boundary and took the catch it was considered as the catch out. But now it will be six for the batsman in this case. The catch will be valid if the fielder jumps from outside the boundary and take the catch.

8.) The 6 players can be substituted instead of 4 simultaneously in test cricket.

9.) The batsman will get 3 minutes to come on crease after one batsman given out, before it was 2 minutes.

The new rules will be imposed from the test series of South Africa - Bangladesh and Pakistan - Srilanka.
